Nigeria Forward Ademola Lookman Back in Atalanta Squad For Trip To Torino

Atalanta boss Ivan Juric has revealed that Ademola Lookman is set to travel with the team for Sunday’s Serie A clash away to Torino.

Despite his lack of match sharpness, the manager confirmed the Nigerian forward will be part of the squad.

Lookman has not featured in a competitive match for La Dea since the conclusion of the 2024/25 campaign.

Over the summer, his future became the subject of heavy speculation, with Inter Milan submitting a €45 million offer that was ultimately rejected by Atalanta.

The failed move prompted Lookman to hand in a transfer request and voice his frustrations publicly before leaving Italy to train privately in the UK.

Despite his desire to leave, no transfer materialised before the window closed.

Just days before the new season kicked off, the 26-year-old opted to return to Bergamo, where he has since reintegrated with the squad.

Four games into the campaign, Juric is now ready to call on him again, particularly with attacking options limited due to fitness issues affecting Charles De Ketelaere and Gianluca Scamacca.

“He’s spoken with me, with the team and the staff, and he was welcomed back positively,” Juric told reporters in his pre-match press conference.

“From tomorrow he’ll be available for us. He’s still not at his best physically, because he has only been working individually, but in training yesterday he showed good signs.”

Lookman could therefore make his first appearance of the season in Turin, offering Atalanta a timely boost as they seek to maintain momentum in the early stages of the Serie A campaign.
