East End Lions Crowned SLFA Men’s Unity Cup Champions

East End Lions reaffirmed their dominance in Sierra Leonean football after clinching the 2025 SLFA Men’s Unity Cup with a 2–0 win over Bhantal FC at the Approved School Field in Freetown.

The clash lived up to the hype. End-to-end football, missed chances, and a roaring crowd that packed the stands.

Both sides pressed hard in the first half but couldn’t find the breakthrough.

In the 70th minute, Alusine Dumbuya finally broke the deadlock with a composed finish that sent the “Killers” fans into celebration.

Mohamed Koroma sealed the deal for East End Lions in stoppage time, slotting home from close range to confirm victory for the reigning Leone Rock Premier League champions.

The occasion drew several football dignitaries, including SLFA Vice President Ex-Officio Kwaku Lisk and Western Area Regional FA Chairman Rev. Philip Buck, who praised the quality of the contest.

Thousands of supporters from across the country turned up to witness what many called a perfect curtain-raiser to the new season.

The Unity Cup traditionally kicks off Sierra Leone’s football calendar, with the new campaign set to begin on Saturday, November 8, 2025.
