The stage is set for another edition of the CAF Champions League, as reigning champions Pyramids FC of Egypt are drawn against Morocco’s RS Berkane in a headline-grabbing Group A showdown.
The official draw, held at SuperSport studios in Johannesburg on Monday, produced several heavyweight clashes.
The highlight fixture sees Pyramids and Berkane renew their fierce rivalry following their CAF Super Cup meeting earlier this season, where Pyramids edged a narrow 1-0 victory.
They will be joined in the group by Nigeria’s Rivers United and Zambia’s Power Dynamos, rounding out a balanced but tricky pool.
Group B has record 12-time champions Al Ahly facing Tanzania’s Young Africans, Moroccan champions AS FAR, and Algeria’s JS Kabylie.
South Africa’s Mamelodi Sundowns headline Group C, where they’ll battle Al Hilal of Sudan, MC Alger, and DR Congo’s St Éloi Lupopo, a group packed with experience and ambition.
Group D promises fireworks as four-time winners Espérance de Tunis meet Simba SC, Petro de Luanda, and Stade Malien.
The group stage begins on the weekend of 21–23 November 2025, with two rounds scheduled before the AFCON 2025 break.
Action resumes in January 2026, followed by the knockout phase in March 2026.
This season’s winners will claim USD 4 million, while runners-up will pocket USD 2 million
