Napoli are adopting a measured approach to the contract situation of their influential midfielder, André-Frank Zambo Anguissa, even as top European clubs circle for his signature.

The Cameroonian has been one of the standout performers for the reigning Serie A champions this season, anchoring the midfield with authority and consistency.

The 29-year-old midfielder has scored four goals and provided one assist in ten Serie A appearances this season.

Speaking to DAZN Italia, Napoli’s sporting director Giovanni Manna confirmed that while the club values Anguissa highly, there is no immediate urgency to negotiate a new deal.

“His mindset is reflected in his performances,” Manna said.

“We have a unilateral option for an extension, but there is no rush. We will discuss it with his agents.”

That option gives Napoli full control over Anguissa’s short-term future, allowing them to extend his stay without pressure amid rising interest from other clubs.

Napoli are at the summit of the Serie A with 22 points from 10 matches played.

As AFCON 2025 looms, which is set for December 21 to January 18, Anguissa is expected to play a pivotal role for Cameroon.
