Xabi Alonso Comments on Liverpool Speculation: The Future Is Uncertain

Liverpool Faces Struggles in 2025 Season

In the year 2025, Liverpool has only achieved a success rate of 50% in their matches, putting significant strain on manager Arne Slot, who won the championship in his debut season last year.

Pressure Intensifies on Management

Alongside Slot, the pressure is also increasing on Xabi Alonso, who experienced his third defeat in five league encounters following a loss to Celta Vigo at the Santiago Bernabéu this past Sunday.

Alonso, a UEFA Champions League winner during his playing days at Liverpool, is revered as a club icon among supporters who are hopeful for his return to Anfield this season.

Recent Performance Concerns

Real Madrid has secured only two wins in their last six matches across all competitions. With Alonso now under close examination, he was queried about any potential links to his former club, with rumors suggesting he could take over for Slot.

“There’s a bond with Liverpool. I’m in the place where I want to be (Real Madrid), you never know what will happen in the future,” Alonso remarked.

Additionally, he addressed the recent remarks made by Mohamed Salah following Liverpool’s draw against Leeds, which has led to Salah’s exclusion from the Champions League squad set to compete against Inter Milan on Tuesday evening.

“This decision has been made in Liverpool, and I’m sure there are many details we’re missing about the situation. I don’t need to comment further,” he added.
