PSG Unveils Fifth Kit for 2025
PSG Unveils a New Special Edition Kit for 2025-26
Introduction of the Fifth Kit
Not resting on their four existing kits this season, reigning UEFA Champions League champions Paris Saint-Germain have revealed a new special edition fifth kit for the 2025-26 season.
Inspiration Behind the Design
The club’s latest creation, part of their collaboration with the Jordan brand, draws inspiration from the vibrant nightlife of Paris, particularly highlighting the sparkling lights that illuminate the city after sunset.
Features of the “Night Edition” Jersey
This new shirt, dubbed the “Night Edition,” features a deep black base adorned with colorful swirls that mimic the appearance of car taillights, neon advertisements, and street lamps. Additionally, the logos are enhanced with a striking silver foil effect.
The unique design is influenced by the breathtaking views from the Trocadero, a popular tourist destination offering panoramic sights of the Eiffel Tower across the River Seine. The graphics were developed from time-lapse footage captured at this iconic location using a sophisticated 360-degree camera, which was then digitally manipulated to create an energetic abstract display of light synonymous with Parisian nights. Très chic!
Expanding the Collection
As is now customary, the PSG x Jordan jersey is accompanied by a broader collection of complementary streetwear, which includes items such as track tops, pants, t-shirts, baseball caps, and even a wrap-around skirt.
Potential Debut
It remains unclear whether PSG will sport their new kit during the upcoming Champions League round of 16 match against Chelsea, but it would certainly be fitting for a jersey inspired by the allure of the Paris night.
Overview of Previous Jordan Collaborations
The “Night Edition” marks the fifteenth unique kit introduced in PSG’s partnership with the Jordan brand, which began in the 2018-19 season. Below is a look back at some of the most notable or eccentric kits that have emerged during this collaboration.
2020-21 Third Kit
This particular kit generated buzz for all the wrong reasons, featuring an eye-catching yet jarring mix of neon pink and “psychic purple,” looking particularly garish in natural light.
2024-25 Third Kit
In contrast, the “La Vie en Rose” kit, celebrating iconic French singer Edith Piaf, embraced more understated muted pink hues that were well-received, honoring the artistry of both the singer and her music.
2021-22 Home Kit
This kit was notable for being the first to feature Jordan branding on PSG’s home strip, with the Jumpman logo taking the place of the familiar Nike swoosh. The matching shorts had a distinctive look, mimicking the style of basketball shorts with oversized side panels.
2023-24 Fourth Kit
This jersey drew inspiration from the elephant hide print commonly associated with Jordan basketball sneakers. Its design showcased a striking combination of burnished gold with whimsical camouflaged graphics.
2023-24 Fourth Kit
Simple yet stylish, this kit came in sleek black with tonal logos, incorporating PSG’s iconic red Hechter stripe in a full display of the French tricolore, rendering it a visually appealing piece.
