French giants Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) are preparing to roll out a major promotional campaign to support Achraf Hakimi’s candidacy for the 2025 African Ballon d’Or.
The initiative, according to sources close to the club, will aim to spotlight Hakimi’s remarkable achievements during the 2024–25 season.
A consistent performer at both domestic and international levels, Hakimi has become a vital part of PSG’s success story, combining defensive discipline with attacking brilliance.
His efforts helped Morocco reach the final of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) and guided PSG to another dominant season across competitions.
The 26-year-old featured in 55 matches last season, scoring 11 goals and providing 14 assists, while helping PSG to secure five major trophies, including the UEFA Champions League.
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) recently released its shortlist for the 2025 African Player of the Year, which includes other top names such as Frank Anguissa (Cameroon), Denis Bouanga (Gabon), Fiston Mayele (DR Congo), Serhou Guirassy (Guinea), Oussama Lamlioui (Morocco), and Senegal’s Iliman Ndiaye and Pape Matar Sarr.
PSG’s campaign is expected to amplify Hakimi’s profile globally and rally fans behind his bid to become the first Moroccan to win the prestigious award since Mustapha Hadji in 1998.
