Pedro Rodríguez Announces Departure from Lazio

Pedro Rodríguez, the 38-year-old winger who was part of Spain’s World Cup-winning squad in 2010, has confirmed his exit from Lazio at the close of the current season.

The former Barcelona player, who also claimed a European Championship title in 2012, indicated that he is nearing the end of his time with the ‘Laziali,’ following his transfer from Roma in 2021.

Pedro’s Statements

“Without a doubt, this will be my last year at Lazio. But I want to leave this team where it deserves to be, in Europe, to create good memories,” Pedro expressed in an interview with Sky Italia. He acknowledged that his retirement is approaching, while also suggesting he might continue to play if the conditions are right. “Every passing day brings me closer to retirement,” he added.

Last season, he featured in 44 matches and netted 14 goals. So far this season, he has participated in nine games but is still pursuing his first goal of the campaign.
