Liam Rosenior Poised for Chelsea Role as Strasbourg Departure Approaches

Liam Rosenior Nearly Confirmed as Chelsea Manager

Deal Reached with Chelsea

Liam Rosenior, the current manager of Strasbourg, has nearly finalized his move to Chelsea, revealing that he has reached a “verbal agreement” with the London club regarding a managerial position.

Rosenior, who took the reins at Strasbourg in 2024 after successful tenures with Hull City and Derby County, traveled to London this week to advance his transition to Chelsea, a sister club of BlueCo. During a recent press conference, he acknowledged that a consensus has been established regarding his appointment.

“It appears that I am set to become the next manager of Chelsea,” Rosenior stated during the briefing. “While I haven’t signed the contract yet, I have verbally agreed with Chelsea. This situation is unprecedented; it’s unusual for someone to declare intentions before the contract is officially signed.”

He added, “Everything is basically settled and should be finalized shortly. I’m here because I genuinely care about this club and thought it was right to address your inquiries in person before taking this step.”

Future Prospects and Other Interests

Rosenior also noted he had received interest from several “Champions League clubs” but emphasized the significance of the opportunity to manage Chelsea.

“The past 18 months have been an absolute pleasure and the peak of my career thus far. I have met remarkable individuals, created unforgettable memories, and achieved historical milestones,” he shared. “All this was made possible thanks to the investment from our ownership and the dedication of our president.”

He continued, “I have been approached by numerous clubs, including those in the Champions League. I have always been transparent with Marc Keller, our president, and the ownership about these opportunities. I will cherish this club for a lifetime, but I cannot pass up Chelsea.”

Despite his relatively brief experience at this level, Rosenior feels prepared for the upcoming challenges he will face at Chelsea.

“Outside of PSG in France, if Chelsea seeks a coach, that individual will likely accept the position,” he remarked. “I would not have taken the Chelsea role if I didn’t feel ready. Some clubs are simply impossible to decline. I hope the fans in Strasbourg can understand this and feel proud of it.”
