RB Leipzig’s Young Star Shines Bright

A Surprising Investment

During the previous summer, many were taken aback when RB Leipzig acquired the then 18-year-old Yan Diomande for a remarkable fee of 20 million euros.

Rising Stars

At the time of his move, the forward’s market value was a mere million euros, according to ‘Transfermarkt.de’. However, with December upon us, it is clear that the Saxon club made an impressive choice.

A Historic Performance

Under the guidance of Ole Werner, the Ivorian talent is flourishing exceptionally well. His stellar performance included a remarkable outing against Eintracht Frankfurt last night.

Record-Breaking Hat-Trick

In a resounding 6-0 home win against Eintracht, Diomande achieved a historic hat-trick. At just 19 years and 22 days old, he has now become the youngest Bundesliga player since 1965 to net three goals in a single match.

Historical Context

Prior to Diomande’s feat, the only player to accomplish this at a younger age was Walter Bechtold, who was 18 years and 118 days old when he scored his hat-trick in November 1965. Diomande may not claim the title of the youngest hat-trick scorer in Bundesliga history, but his achievement is nonetheless significant.
