Inter Miami Welcomes Former Tottenham Star Reguilon: My Goal Is to Continue Winning!

Inter Miami Secures Sergio Reguilón as New Signing

Former Tottenham Defender Joins MLS Champions

Inter Miami has confirmed the acquisition of Sergio Reguilón, the former defender from Tottenham Hotspur.

The 28-year-old Spanish player has been without a club since his release from Spurs over the summer, and he is now set to make his mark in the United States with the reigning MLS Cup champions.

Reguilón’s Motivation for Joining

In an interview on the club’s official website, Reguilón shared his reasons for choosing to join Inter Miami, particularly after the retirement of Jordi Alba earlier this year.

“I was attracted by the ambitious project of the club, which is committed to winning and doing things correctly. I want to be part of a team that pursues success and competes at a high level,” Reguilón stated.

“My goal is to continue winning, chase the trophies we currently lack, and achieve greatness here.”

Experienced Addition to the Squad

The seasoned defender will fill an international roster spot, bringing valuable experience from his time in both LaLiga and the Premier League, which will be beneficial for manager Javier Mascherano.

Inter Miami also holds the option to extend Reguilón’s contract until 2028 as the club aspires for continued success, particularly in light of the departures of Alba and Sergio Busquets, which may be challenging to navigate. Reguilón’s playing style closely resembles that of Alba, providing a crucial asset for Mascherano as the new season approaches.
