Kaizer Chiefs Caretaker Coach Defiant Despite Uncertain Future

Kaizer Chiefs caretaker coach Cedric Kaze has brushed off speculation about his future following a disappointing exit in the Carling Knockout Cup.

The Glamour boys began the season in blistering form with four straight league wins.

But momentum faded after a 3–1 defeat to Sekhukhune United. Followed by the suspension of head coach Nasreddine Nabi.

Kaze and Ben Youssef were appointed to take charge on an interim basis.

Since then, Chiefs have managed just one victory, a CAF Confederation Cup win over Kabuscorp SCD.

While drawing 1–1 in league matches against Marumo Gallants and AmaZulu FC.

Their Carling Knockout Cup run ended in heartbreak after a penalty shootout loss to Stellenbosch FC.

Pressed about his future after the cup exit, Kaze kept his response short.

“That’s a question for the management,” he told reporters.

“For now, we are still the coaches of Kaizer Chiefs. Until management decides otherwise, I’m sure they will communicate it when the time comes.”

Chiefs are set to return to action on 18 October when they host AS Simba of DR Congo in the CAF Confederation Cup.

A crucial test for Cedric Kaze and his staff as uncertainty continues to swirl around the dugout.
