Barcelona Extends Contract with Marc Bernal
Barcelona has successfully renewed Marc Bernal’s contract.
The 18-year-old midfielder has committed to a new contract lasting until 2029.
Bernal, who is recovering from a knee injury, received this new deal during his rehabilitation last year.
Contract Renewal and Player Sentiments
Today, the contract has been not only extended but also enhanced. Bernal expressed his joy, stating, “Today is the most special and beautiful day of my life. This is what every player who has grown up here aspires to achieve, and I hope to remain for many more years.”
Reflecting on his injury, he shared, “When I got hurt and was informed that Barça wanted to renew my contract, I felt as if I had hit rock bottom. It was an incredibly challenging day for me.”
He added, “What they did for me was truly special and held great significance for my family and me. I owe everything to the club of my life.”
Acknowledgments and Support
Bernal also thanked those who supported him throughout his journey: “Many individuals have been instrumental in my recovery. Hansi (Flick) amazed me right from the start. When I was hospitalized, he took the time to visit me.”
He concluded, “His continuous support and attention during this entire process have meant the world to me.”
