Zenga Cautions Inter Milan Not to Part with Bournemouth Target Luis Henrique
Inter Milan Icon Walter Zenga Advocates Keeping Luis Henrique
Transfer Interest in Brazilian Winger
Former Inter Milan player Walter Zenga is urging the club’s management to retain Luis Henrique, a summer acquisition from Olympique Marseille, as interest from Bournemouth intensifies this week.
Zenga’s Strong Opinion on Henrique’s Value
Speaking to Sky Italia, Zenga expressed his thoughts: “I was expecting them to bring in (Ivan) Perisic to finalize the squad. I wouldn’t allow Luis Henrique to leave, even in the face of discontent at San Siro; the fans simply don’t recognize his importance.”
Zenga continued, “I wouldn’t consider signing Perisic if it meant letting go of Luis Henrique. In my view, San Siro fails to appreciate how significantly the Brazilian contributes to the overall team dynamics.”
He acknowledged that while Inter tends to focus more on the left flank with (Fede) Dimarco and (Alessandro) Bastoni, having Henrique on the right side provides essential balance. “These subtleties are critical for a coach to grasp, and that’s why he keeps starting,” Zenga added.
He concluded by highlighting that some fans might overlook these contributions, being too focused on individual players. “I’ve watched the Nerazzurri play many times, and perhaps they don’t fully grasp the game, but Luis Henrique has been instrumental in creating balance for the whole squad.”
