Rising Ticket Prices Spark Outrage Among Supporters

Supporters are expressing their discontent regarding the exorbitant expenses associated with attending the 2026 World Cup.

The Football Supporters’ Association has labeled the ticket prices as a “ridiculous affront” to fans.

For several smaller nations, the price of entry-level group-stage tickets may surpass an entire month’s salary. This does not even take into account expenses related to travel and accommodation.

A fan from Ghana conveyed feelings of “frustration and disillusionment,” indicating that supporters of the Black Stars could be compelled to abandon their travel plans.

FIFA’s Pricing Strategy Under Scrutiny

FIFA’s ticket pricing framework was made public recently, revealing that prices for group-stage tickets may be three times higher than those for the 2022 Qatar World Cup. The least expensive ticket for the final match is set to be £3,119.

In a statement on Friday, FIFA reported a staggering five million ticket requests from fans across more than 200 countries within just 24 hours following the opening of the latest ticketing phase.
