West Ham Secures Acceptance of Nketiah Bid from Crystal Palace
West Ham’s Pursuit of Eddie Nketiah Falls Through
Crystal Palace Striker’s Move to West Ham Fails
Reports indicate that West Ham United was close to securing a transfer for Crystal Palace’s forward Eddie Nketiah last month.
According to the Athletic, Palace had agreed to a £27 million deal with West Ham for Nketiah.
Injury Derails the Transfer
Unfortunately, the agreement fell apart as Nketiah sustained a hamstring injury which has kept him sidelined since January. West Ham deemed the risk of pursuing the transfer too significant at this stage.
Additionally, Crystal Palace showed interest in Hammers forward Callum Wilson, but efforts to recruit him came to a standstill due to unfavorable feedback from manager Oliver Glasner.
Glasner’s opinion was expressed before it was announced that he would depart from the Eagles at the season’s end, coupled with Wilson’s impressive run of form.
