West Ham Icon Dicks Discusses Departure from Heybridge Swifts

West Ham legend Dicks explains leaving Heybridge Swifts

Julian Dicks Steps Down from Heybridge Swifts Managerial Role

West Ham icon Julian Dicks has announced his resignation as the manager of Heybridge Swifts.

Departure from Heybridge Swifts

Dicks concludes his tenure with the non-league Essex team after nearly 18 months at the helm.

The ex-defender for Liverpool shared that his departure was prompted by a further decrease in the club’s budget for the current season.

Dicks’ Explanation

Dicks stated, “I made the choice to leave Heybridge on Saturday night upon learning that the already reduced budget would see additional cuts. This, along with other factors and specific individuals at the club, has influenced my decision. I feel that the players and supporters deserve better. Wishing everyone the best for the remainder of the season.”

In an official announcement, Heybridge Swifts, currently positioned 16th in the Isthmian League North Division, confirmed Dicks’ resignation. The statement read: “We acknowledge that Julian Dicks has stepped down from his role as first-team manager. We appreciate his commitment and effort during his tenure and wish him well in his future endeavors.”

To manage the first team on an interim basis, Adrian Whitbread, another former West Ham player, will assume the role while the club assesses its options.
