David Weir Joins BlueCo as Sports Director of Strasbourg
David Weir has officially become part of the BlueCo organization.
Following his departure from Brighton, where he served as technical director, Weir has been appointed as the sports director of Strasbourg. BlueCo is the ownership group that manages both Strasbourg and Chelsea.
Recent Transfers from Brighton to BlueCo
Weir’s transition marks the latest in a series of personnel shifts from Brighton to the BlueCo umbrella.
Key players and staff who have transitioned include:
- Facundo Buonaotte
- Marc Cucurella
- Moises Caicedo
- Robert Sanchez
- Joao Pedro
Additionally, former Brighton coach Graham Potter has also held a position at Chelsea.
Chelsea’s co-sporting directors, Paul Winstanley and Lawrence Stewart, both made the move from Brighton to Chelsea as well. Now, Weir has followed suit to oversee operations at Strasbourg.
Working with Chelsea’s Young Talent
In his new role at the Ligue 1 club, Weir will collaborate closely with Chelsea’s young talents who are currently on loan, including Kendry Paez, Mike Penders, and Mamadou Sarr, as well as Emanuel Emegha, who has recently signed with Chelsea.
