Manchester United’s Remarkable Turnaround
Manchester United has experienced an impressive revival in 2026 following a disappointing year in 2025, which saw them face numerous challenges under the leadership of former manager Ruben Amorim. Reports from Sky Sports Germany indicate that Manchester United is interested in signing Waldemar Anton, a defender from Borussia Dortmund. According to the report, both Atlético Madrid and Manchester United have expressed interest in the German international’s situation, along with Aston Villa.
Los Rojiblancos have been long-time admirers of Anton, believing he could suit Diego Simeone’s system. The La Liga club, along with Bayer Leverkusen, also previously looked at Anton before he transferred to Signal Iduna Park from VfB Stuttgart in 2024.
The 29-year-old is highly regarded at Dortmund and could bring stability and leadership to United’s defense. This season, Anton has made 37 appearances for his club in all competitions, netting three goals, all while being a starter.
