WAFU-B Sets Friday Draw For African Schools Championship In Abidjan

The build-up to the 2025 African Schools Championship intensifies this week as WAFU-B prepares to conduct the zonal draw on Friday, November 21, in Abidjan.

The ceremony will determine the pathway for West Africa’s U-15 boys’ and girls’ teams ahead of next month’s finals in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso.

From December 1–4, young footballers from six nations, Nigeria, Côte d’Ivoire, Togo, Benin, Niger and hosts Burkina Faso, will chase qualification for the continental stage of the CAF-run competition.

The tournament has become one of Africa’s most important grassroots platforms, offering school talents a rare opportunity to compete internationally and gain early exposure.

Ghana girls’ squad captured the African Schools Championship title in Accra, while the boys finished third, as Tanzania emerged champions.
