Patrick Vieira Parts Ways with Genoa
Patrick Vieira and Genoa have mutually agreed to end their partnership.
The French manager exits his role while the team finds itself at the bottom of the Serie A standings.
Details of the Departure
Vieira, who previously captained Arsenal and managed Crystal Palace, took on the head coach position in November 2024.
Sources indicate that he began discussions with the club’s executives on Friday, culminating in an agreement to part ways later that evening.
Official Club Statement
Genoa released a statement today, which read:
“Genoa CFC announces that Patrick Vieira is no longer the head coach of the First Team.”
“We would like to extend our gratitude to the coach and his staff for their commitment and professionalism during their time with us, and we wish them the best in their future endeavors.”
“The technical leadership of the First Team will now be temporarily assumed by coach Roberto Murgita, with the support of coach Domenico Criscito.”
