Super Eagles star Victor Osimhen Edges Closer To Return After Ankle Setback

Nigerian superstar, Victor Osimhen inches closer to a full return after resuming training with Turkish champions Galatasaray.

The striker had been sidelined for two weeks following an ankle injury.

He picked up the blow while representing the Super Eagles in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Rwanda.

The 26-year-old was forced to cut short his international duty to undergo treatment in Turkey.

He missed Galatasaray’s last two fixtures against Eyupspor and Eintracht Frankfurt.

The club has since managed his recovery with extreme caution.

His competitive return to action delayed to ensure full fitness.

Photos released by the Istanbul giants over the weekend showed Victor Osimhen training with his teammates at Rams Park.

Although, he undertook individual drills to ease back into full intensity.

His gradual return, however, is a huge relief not just for Galatasaray but also for Nigeria.

The reigning Turkish champions are keen to have their talisman back ahead of key battles in both the Super Lig and the UEFA Champions League.

While Super Eagles fans hopeful of seeing him fully fit for the remainder of the World Cup qualifying campaign in October.
