Galatasaray Weigh Late Fitness Call On Osimhen Ahead Of Liverpool Showdown

Victor Osimhen could be in line for a return as Galatasaray prepare to face Liverpool in the Champions League tonight.

The Nigerian forward has been sidelined with an ankle injury he sustained during the Super Eagles’ qualifier against South Africa.

Although he is not fully fit, head coach Okan Buruk has hinted that the 26-year-old may still feature in the high-profile clash.

Speaking to the media at his pre-match press conference, Buruk provided an update on Osimhen’s progress. “Today, we will see how he was in the last training session,” he said.

“Osimhen has continued training. It was positive for us that he played 10 minutes in the last game. We will look at his situation today and decide.”

Osimhen, who recently made a brief return to action, could be eased back into the team.

However, Mauro Icardi’s strong form likely to keep him on the bench if selected.

Nevertheless, Galatasaray will see the Nigerian striker as a crucial option to exploit Liverpool’s recent defensive vulnerabilities should he be deemed fit enough to play a part.
