UERFA Holds Successful Annual Congress

Annual Gathering Marks New Football Season

The Upper East Regional Football Association (UERFA) conducted its annual Ordinary Congress on Thursday, October 16, 2025, at the Regional House of Chiefs located in Bolgatanga.

This congress, which signifies the beginning of the new football season, was attended by important figures such as club managers, chairpersons from District Football Associations, representatives from Referees and Coaches Associations, players, and various other stakeholders.

Call for Unity and Collaboration

In his speech, Alhaji Salifu Seidu Zida, Chairman of the UERFA, encouraged clubs to foster unity and collaboration to ensure the seamless and effective management of football activities in the region. He highlighted that teamwork and discipline are crucial for the ongoing growth of the sport.

Mr. Samuel Aboabire, a member of the Executive Council and Chairman of the Greater Accra Regional Football Association, was present to represent the GFA President, Mr. Kurt E.S. Okraku.

Commitment to Regional Development

During his speech, Mr. Aboabire reiterated the Football Association’s dedication to nurturing football at the regional level. He announced that the GFA would continue to facilitate the Regional U15 and U17 Boys and Girls Championships, stating that regional champions would receive medals and a cash reward of GH₵10,000.

The commencement of the 2025/26 Upper East Regional Second Division League is set for October 31, 2025, with anticipation building for another thrilling and competitive season within the region.
