Unveiled: Atletico Madrids Most Active Winter Transfer Window in Years

Atlético Madrid Eyes Winter Transfers to Strengthen Squad

At present, Atlético Madrid finds itself in third place in the LaLiga standings, trailing nine points behind league leaders Barcelona.

Planned Winter Transfer Moves

As reported by journalist Pedro Fullana, the Rojiblancos are eager to utilize the upcoming winter transfer window to secure a new left-back.

Atlético’s management has expressed dissatisfaction with the performances of Matteo Ruggeri and Javi Galán. They are contemplating selling one of these players to generate the necessary funds for acquiring a more skilled left-back.

Focus on Left-Back Position

“The primary goal is to enhance the left-back position. The club aims to offload Javi Galán, who is not part of Diego Pablo Simeone’s plans. If a compelling offer comes for Ruggeri, they would not hesitate to let him go instead of Galán to strengthen that role,” Fullana noted.

Consideration of Other Departures

During a discussion on Cadena SER, Fullana mentioned, “If any proposals are made for players who aren’t deemed essential, such as Connor Gallagher, they will be evaluated. There are also rumors in England surrounding Alexander Sorloth if a suitable offer arises.”

Giacomo Raspadori’s Situation

Regarding Italian forward Giacomo Raspadori, Fullana stated, “Currently, Raspadori is the player most likely to be transferred. He understands the necessity of regular play time to make the World Cup roster and aims to be a key figure for the Italian national team. Roma has already shown interest, alongside several other Italian clubs.”

“While none have moved significantly forward, there’s considerable interest in signing Raspadori in Italy, and this option is being taken seriously.”
