The Best FIFA Football Awards 2025: Viewing Information, Nominees, and Awards Overview
FIFA’s The Best Awards have been recognizing exceptional football performances annually since 2017. The upcoming ceremony will celebrate notable achievements over the past year, with the player awards being the centerpiece of the event. This year’s awards will also honor the top coach, the best goalkeeper, and outstanding goals in both men’s and women’s categories.
Highlights of the Men’s Award Competition
Ousmane Dembélé and Lamine Yamal have emerged as frontrunners among the 11 nominees for the men’s award. The competition could be intense, given their placements at the recent Ballon d’Or ceremony, where they finished first and second, respectively.
Team Representation
Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) dominates the men’s category with multiple nominations, including Dembélé, alongside his teammates Achraf Hakimi, Nuno Mendes, and Vitinha.
Women’s Award Insights
Seventeen nominees are vying for the women’s award, with Aitana Bonmatí from Barcelona leading the pack. Bonmatí, who won the Ballon d’Or recently, is a strong contender, representing one of five Barcelona players nominated.
The Women’s Super League (WSL) features prominently, with Arsenal and Chelsea contributing eight nominees, including notable players like Mariona Caldentey, Chloe Kelly, and Lucy Bronze.
Coaching Nominees
The coaching category includes several prominent names: Mikel Arteta and Renée Slegers from Arsenal, Chelsea’s Sonia Bompastor, and England’s Sarina Wiegman are all contenders for the coach awards.

Voting Process for The Best Awards 2025
The awards are determined by a voting system that involves four groups: the captain of each FIFA-registered national team, one nominated coach per team, one journalist from each country, and fans through online votes. Each voter selects their top three from every category, awarding points based on their selection.
The nominee accruing the most points from these combined groups will emerge as the winner.
