Tudor Praises Stunning Tottenham Following Victory Over Atletico Madrid

Last-Minute Penalty Secures Spurs a Narrow Win, But Atletico Advances

Victory for Spurs was bittersweet as Atletico Madrid moved on to the Champions League quarter-finals with a cumulative score of 7-5.

Mixed Emotions for Tudor

Tudor expressed a blend of feelings after the match: “It’s nice, but it’s also a mix of emotions,” he stated.

“Although we’re out, it was heartening to see such a strong team performance and the players’ energy was remarkable. The support from our fans, who stood by us from the start to the finish, made it a memorable experience. Thank you all.”

Highlighting Notable Performances

When asked about individual displays, Tudor was keen to recognize several players’ efforts.

“He’s versatile, playing in various positions, but I really believe his best role is in the center. He consistently performs well, displaying a combination of skill, physicality, and mental sharpness to make the right choices. It’s crucial for him to keep developing, especially given his age; he should seek daily affirmations of his potential.”

Tudor noted the impressive partnership between his players.

“Together with Pape Sarr, they show remarkable chemistry. In the last two matches, they’ve truly made a difference. Xavi Simons also performed exceptionally, demonstrating his talent in a challenging central role. Mathys Tel contributed positively as well.”

He added about Randal Kolo Muani’s role in the match.

“It felt like we had a chance, especially with a foul on Xavi that the referee overlooked, which shifted the game’s momentum. Yet, I believe we are progressing well as a team, and we must keep pushing forward.”
