Tottenham Loan Out Summer Signing
Tottenham Hotspur has opted to send one of its recent acquisitions on loan, mirroring the steps taken by a fellow teammate.
Summer Signings Overview
During the summer transfer window, Spurs secured six new players on permanent contracts, along with two additional loan signings. The circumstances surrounding these additions have varied; among the newly signed players, Mohammed Kudus has showcased notable on-field performance, while Mathys Tel has faced difficulties, and Luka Vuskovic was quickly sent out on loan.
The loan situation for Vuskovic is progressing positively; the 18-year-old center-back has made 13 appearances for the Bundesliga club Hamburg, earning accolades from Tottenham as they keep a close watch on his development.
Kota Takai’s Loan Move
Another summer addition, Kota Takai, will be taking a similar path as Vuskovic. The 20-year-old center-back was acquired from Kawasaki Frontale but has yet to feature for the Spurs’ main squad.
This absence from the lineup has primarily been due to injuries affecting both Takai and the established center-back pairing of Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero. With Radu Dragusin’s recent return from injury, chances for Takai to break into the squad have further diminished.
Consequently, Takai will now join Borussia Monchengladbach on loan in the Bundesliga.
Training with Monchengladbach
He has already integrated into the German club’s warm-weather training camp taking place in Turkey.
Rouven Schroder, the head of sports at Monchengladbach, commented, “Kota is a tall, physically strong center-back who possesses good speed. He has the potential to make an immediate contribution to our team, and we are excited to have him on board as our new No. 14.”
Comparative Loans
Takai’s loan mirrors that of Vuskovic, with the Japanese international also joining a Bundesliga club currently placed 12th, just above Hamburg, where his Tottenham teammate plays.
With Vuskovic making a strong impression and Spurs considering him a part of their long-term plans, Takai could find himself in a similar trajectory.
The father of Vuskovic recently indicated that his son might remain on loan for the next season as well. He stated, “He will definitely be at HSV until June, and we will later discuss the best course of action with Tottenham. I’m very pleased with his lifestyle and training.”
He added, “I wouldn’t want him to rush into the English Premier League, which I consider the strongest league in the world. There is still much room for him to develop. Personally, I wouldn’t mind if he stayed in Germany.”
Possible Future Loans
In addition, reports suggest that forward Mathys Tel could also follow suit and go out on loan alongside Takai and Vuskovic.
