Bundesliga Team of the Week – Matchday 12

With the conclusion of the 12th round of the 2025/26 Bundesliga season, Rune Gjerulff, Editor-in-Chief of Bulinews, has compiled his selected Team of the Week, arranged in a 4-3-3 formation.

Goalkeeper

Oliver Baumann, Hoffenheim

Baumann played a crucial role in Freiburg’s commanding 4-0 victory over Mainz, opening the scoring early. He won all five of his duels and contributed a significant pass in the match.

Defenders

Matthias Ginter, Freiburg

Ginter showcased a solid defensive display, triumphing in an impressive 10 duels and providing an assist. He completed 98% of his 163 passes and won seven out of nine duels, reflecting his reliable defensive qualities and composure on the ball.

Left-back Performance

The left-back delivered an energetic performance, scoring a goal and supplying a pivotal pass during Wolfsburg’s draw against Eintracht Frankfurt.

Midfielders

Joshua Kimmich, Bayern Munich

As a consistent presence in the midfield, Kimmich recorded four key passes, including one assist, contributing significantly to Bayern’s victory over St. Pauli.

Wouter Burger, Hoffenheim

Burger produced an exceptional performance, netting a goal and providing an assist to aid Hoffenheim in securing a decisive win against Augsburg.

Johan Manzambi, SC Freiburg

Manzambi had an impressive showing, completing 95% of his passes, scoring a goal, and seeing another goal canceled during Freiburg’s match against Mainz. He helped set up Bayern’s opening goal with an important assist and scored a late winner, ensuring all three points for the champions.

In perhaps one of his best performances this season, the seasoned veteran scored and greatly impacted the game for Freiburg, demonstrating his ability to link up effectively with teammates and providing three essential passes, one of which was an assist.
