According to Florian Plettenberg from Sky Deutschland, there has been no final decision made by ter Stegen regarding whether he will remain with Barcelona through the winter transfer window or seek a move to another club. The possibility of a transfer has not been entirely dismissed, contrary to some earlier reports.

“A conclusive choice is still awaited. Should he opt to stay, he may find himself relegated to the bench under the management of Flick, Deco, or Laporta. Nevertheless, if he aspires to participate in the World Cup, regular playing time is essential,” Plettenberg noted.

His contract with the club extends until 2028, and he continues to be recognized as a high-caliber goalkeeper.
