Violence broke out at the Sani Abacha Stadium in Kano on Sunday after Shooting Stars held Kano Pillars to a 1-1 draw in a fiery NPFL Matchday 8 clash.
Tempers flared when Kano Pillars thought they had snatched a late winner, only for the referee to flag it offside.
The decision ignited fury among the home fans, who poured onto the pitch at full time, throwing objects and chasing players and officials.
Shooting Stars players and coaches came under attack before security forces stepped in to contain the chaos.
Police later escorted the visiting team and match officials out of the arena amid heavy protection.
The incident has deepened concerns over fan violence and weak stadium security in the Nigeria Premier Football League.
The league board is now under pressure to take swift disciplinary action as it confronts another black eye for domestic football.
