Super Eagles To Open Camp November 10 For World Cup Playoffs

The road to the 2026 FIFA World Cup is narrowing, and Nigeria’s Super Eagles are determined to make the continent proud when the final African playoffs kick off in Morocco next month.

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has confirmed that the team will open camp in Rabat on Sunday, November 10, ahead of their crucial semifinal clash with Gabon’s Panthers.

The mini-tournament format will see Nigeria, Gabon, Cameroon, and DR Congo battle for the single African ticket to the intercontinental playoffs scheduled for Mexico in March 2026.

According to CAF, both semifinals are set for Thursday, November 13, with the final on Sunday, November 16, at the Prince Moulay El Hassan Sports Complex in Rabat.

A draw will determine whether the matches take place at the El-Barid Stadium or the Prince Moulay El Hassan venue, both located in the Moroccan capital.

NFF President Ibrahim Gusau believes the Super Eagles will rise to the occasion once again.

“Everything is being done, by the NSC and the NFF, to see that nothing is left to chance. No stone will be left unturned.

“That special spirit that saw the team rise to the occasion and score the four goals they actually needed against Bénin Republic on the final day of the qualifiers, will propel the team to victory in the play-offs,” he said.

The stakes couldn’t be higher as nine African nations have already secured their World Cup spots, and the four remaining contenders are chasing the last lifeline to represent the continent on global soil.
