Nigeria’s national team has intensified training in Rabat, Morocco, as they gear up for a decisive 2026 World Cup playoff clash against Gabon on Thursday.
Twenty-one players have now joined the camp, with captain William Troost-Ekong and vice-captain Alex Iwobi leading the charge under coach Eric Chelle.
The Super Eagles held their first full training session on Monday, showing strong focus and unity ahead of the must-win encounter.
Key squad members, including Wilfred Ndidi, Calvin Bassey, Ademola Lookman, and goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali, have all reported for duty.

With the playoffs being a single-elimination match, Nigeria’s hopes of reaching the 2026 FIFA World Cup rest entirely on securing victory against the Panthers.
Beyond the pitch, discussions around player welfare and the team’s overall preparation have added intensity to the buildup.
