SPL Aims to Sign Salah as Ronaldos Successor with £1.2M Annual Proposal
Saudi Pro League Targets Mohamed Salah as New Star
SPL’s Ambitious Plans for the Upcoming Season
The Saudi Pro League (SPL) is reportedly setting its sights on recruiting Mohamed Salah as a leading figure for the next season.
According to the Liverpool Echo, the SPL is prepared to facilitate Al-Nassr’s sale of Cristiano Ronaldo, paving the way for Salah to join from Liverpool and become the main attraction of the league.
Ronaldo’s Exit from Al-Nassr
Ronaldo appears to be on the verge of leaving, following discontent among SPL officials due to his strike during the past two matches. The Portuguese forward has voiced his dissatisfaction, protesting against the disparity in transfer funds available to Al-Nassr compared to those allocated to Al-Hilal by the Public Investment Fund.
Salah as Ronaldo’s Successor
Salah is being considered as a potential successor to Ronaldo, with the SPL reportedly planning to offer to triple his current wages of £400,000 per week.
The proposed agreement would amount to an initial £1.2 million per week, supplemented by performance-related bonuses, in an effort to persuade Salah to make the transition this summer.
As Salah approaches his 34th birthday in June, his current contract with Liverpool is set to expire in 2027.
