The South Sudan Football Federation (SSFF) has suspended national team coach Nicolas Dupuis for 15 days after his controversial remarks following their World Cup qualifier loss to Senegal.
In a statement released on Friday, the federation said the coach breached his contractual obligations and violated Article N(3) of his professional contract.
The decision was made after an emergency executive committee meeting was held earlier in the day to address the coach’s comments and the team’s poor qualifying campaign.
“The Head Coach is hereby suspended from his duties for a period of fifteen (15) days,” the SSFF announced.
The federation has formed an independent investigation committee to probe the incident and deliver its findings within the suspension period.
During the interim, the assistant coach will take charge of the national team as Acting Head Coach to keep preparations on track.
The SSFF apologized to fans and partners for recent poor performances and the controversy surrounding the coach’s public statement.
“We remain deeply grateful for your continued trust and support as we take measures to uphold professionalism, discipline, and accountability,” the statement read.
The governing body reaffirmed its commitment to transparency and professionalism, vowing to rebuild confidence and strengthen the national team’s competitive edge.
