Zambia head coach Moses Sichone has released a 55-player provisional list as preparations intensify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
The announcement meets CAF’s requirement for all competing nations to submit extended squads ahead of the tournament, which runs from December 21 to January 18.
Among the notable inclusions is 21-year-old Manchester City defender Jadel Katongo, who has featured for England at youth level but has declared interest in representing Zambia.
Sichone has also handed another opportunity to Austrian-based Jack Kalichi Lahne, whose recent debut goal for Chipolopolo made an instant impression during the latest FIFA window.
Several emerging talents from Zambia’s U17 World Cup project, Jonathan Kalimina, Abel Nyirongo and Christo Chitambala, have also been drafted as part of long-term development plans.

The provisional squad will eventually be reduced to 28 players in line with CAF regulations before the final group of 23 or slightly more, should teams choose to add extras, is confirmed.
FAZ has prepared an international training camp ahead of the tournament, with high-profile friendly matches expected to fine-tune the squad.
Zambia has been placed in Group A, where they will face hosts Morocco, Mali and Comoros.
The final squads for all participating countries must be submitted by December 11, following CAF’s November 24 deadline for provisional lists.
