Shocking Twist: Obi Mikel Enters Misleading Kroos Controversy Linked to Real Madrids Ceballos

Kroos Responds to Controversial Comments from Obi Mikel

Social Media Exchanges Emerge

Recently, Toni Kroos took to social media to pose a direct question: “Why didn’t you play for Real Madrid?” This inquiry was sparked by viral comments attributed to midfielder Obi Mikel.

Allegations of Mediocrity

The remarks in question labeled Kroos as “mediocre” and cast doubt on how players like Nacho could have achieved multiple Champions League titles. However, these assertions were firmly rejected by the former Nigerian international himself.

In early 2024, Obi Mikel was claimed to have made scathingly critical comments about various Real Madrid stars in the context of the Champions League final against Borussia Dortmund. Nevertheless, he altogether denied these statements on his podcast, The Obi One, labeling them as misinformation.

Mikel’s Denial and Support for Real Madrid Stars

“That’s an absolute lie. To say that Modric, Carvajal, Kroos, or Nacho aren’t good enough is unbelievable. I would never say something like that and I never will,” he stated emphatically.

Mikel went on to champion the talent and achievements of players like Luka Modric, Dani Carvajal, Kroos, and Nacho, whom he referred to as “world-class players” and “legends of Real Madrid.” He even identified Carvajal as a potential Ballon d’Or contender following his performance and goal in the final.

“They’ve won the Champions League six times. To say they aren’t good is madness,” he concluded firmly.

Resurfacing of Controversy

In the wake of Kroos’ reaction, Obi Mikel’s purported comments reappeared on social media when Dani Ceballos shared the image containing those statements, accompanied by the remark: “Sorry, but Toni Kroos is one of a kind.”

Unfortunately, Ceballos reposted the image without verifying the facts, thereby unwittingly drawing Obi Mikel back into a dispute based on inaccurate information.
