Sevilla Set to Announce Almeydas Successor Today

Sevilla Moves Swiftly to Find Almeyda’s Successor

Sevilla is acting promptly to identify a new manager following the dismissal of Matias Almeyda on Monday afternoon.

Club in Negotiations with García Plaza

According to reports from Marca, Sevilla has come to a preliminary agreement with García Plaza, aiming to secure the team’s position in the league with only nine matches left to play.

Management Choice

García Plaza, alongside Diego Martínez, emerged as the preferred candidates to lead the team during this critical period. The current agreement also provides an option to extend his contract for an additional season.

An official announcement from Sevilla is expected to be made later today.

Immediate Training Plans

In the meantime, Sevilla will conduct a closed training session today under the direction of Javi Martínez as they await García Plaza’s arrival.

Since Almeyda’s suspension due to a red card incident against Alavés, his assistant has been temporarily managing the team for the past five matches. A former player and a key figure at the club, Martínez will be retained in García Plaza’s coaching staff.
