Sevilla Chief Del Nido Carrasco: My Plea Against Offering Ramos a Playing Contract

Former Sevilla Defender Offers Himself While Pursuing Club Purchase

The ex-defender of Sevilla has positioned himself as a potential player as he leads discussions regarding the acquisition of the club.

Ramos’ Offer Rejected

Ramos’ proposal to return has been turned down, with Del Nido Carrasco clarifying that the choice was his own and not influenced by coach Matias Almeyda.

Clarification from Del Nido Carrasco

Del Nido Carrasco stated, “The choice to prevent Ramos from rejoining Sevilla was mine. It’s well-known how much effort I put in to bring him back two years ago and to retain him.”

He further elaborated, “I conveyed to his representatives that having him as both an owner and a player for Sevilla is not feasible.”

Additionally, Del Nido Carrasco emphasized, “This decision is unrelated to salary restrictions or performance-related factors. Neither coach Matías Almeyda nor sporting director Víctor Orta Cordón held any responsibility in this matter.”
