Senegal will continue preparing for the 2026 FIFA World Cup and the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations with a series of key friendly matches.
The Senegalese Football Federation (FSF) has confirmed a high-profile clash with Brazil and is in advanced talks to face the United States and another African side in Dakar.
FSF president Abdoulaye Fall said the matches form part of the team’s broader World Cup preparations.
“We are in discussions for a friendly match against the United States.
This is part of our preparation for the World Cup,” he told Wiwsport.
“The FSF already scheduled the match against Brazil and plans to host another African team in Diamniadio before the AFCON.”
Senegal’s fixture against Brazil will mark the third meeting between the two sides since 2019.
The Lions of Teranga famously defeated the Seleção 4–2 in Lisbon in June 2023, a result that boosted their international standing and thrilled fans across Africa.
The FSF plans to host the African friendly in Dakar ahead of the 2025 AFCON, which takes place in Morocco from December 21, 2025, to January 18, 2026.
These matches will allow the coaching staff to evaluate the squad’s readiness and maintain strong competitive momentum before the major tournaments.
Facing teams like Brazil and the United States highlights Senegal’s ambition to test themselves against world-class opponents.
The schedule demonstrates the federation’s clear strategy to prepare the national team for challenges at the highest level while giving supporters a chance to see their stars in action at home.
