Senegalese Officials Join Key FIFA Committees
Senegal has strengthened its influence within global football as Abdoulaye Fall and Aïcha Henriette Ndiaye secure roles on two important FIFA committees.
Abdoulaye Fall, recently elected as president of the Senegalese Football Federation (FSF) for a four-year term, joins the FIFA Men’s National Team Competitions Committee.
The body supervises the organisation and smooth running of international men’s football competitions, including major tournaments and qualifiers.
His appointment underlines FIFA’s recognition of Senegal’s growing role in global football decision-making.
Aïcha Henriette Ndiaye, chair of the FSF Women’s Football Development Committee, has joined the FIFA Women’s Football Development Committee.
This panel works on strategies to grow the women’s game, improve structures, and expand opportunities across the world.
Ndiaye will collaborate with key figures in women’s football, including France’s Laura Georges and New Zealand’s Johanna Wood, who serve as vice-chair and chair respectively.
These appointments highlight Senegal’s commitment to promoting football on the world stage, both in the men’s and women’s game.
They also reflect the FSF’s rising profile and its ambition to shape the future of the sport at an international level.
In addition, FIFA appointed Abdoulaye Saydou Sow, another senior Senegalese football official, as a member of the FIFA Development Committee.
Led by Egypt’s Hany Abo Rida, this committee focuses on funding and infrastructure initiatives designed to grow the game globally.
With three Senegalese administrators now contributing to FIFA’s strategic work, the country has strengthened its presence at the heart of international football governance, marking another milestone in its expanding influence.
