Leipzig Coach Confirms Midfielder’s Return to Fitness
Positive Update on Xaver Schlager
During a press briefing on Friday, Leipzig’s head coach, Ole Werner, announced that central midfielder Xaver Schlager is ready to participate in upcoming matches, whether starting or coming off the bench.
“Xaver has returned to full training. His absence wasn’t lengthy,” Werner stated.
“This is great news for us. He had been performing exceptionally well prior to his break. His comeback will significantly boost our central midfield at an important time, which is definitely a positive development.”
Training Notes for Leipzig
In addition to Schlager, young talent Assan Ouedraogo has also resumed training, but the coach indicated that he will not be included in the lineup for this weekend’s match.
Leipzig will continue to be without Peter Gulacsi and Kosta Nedeljkovic for the time being.
