Lars Ricksen, Dortmund’s chief, has stated that the club will not impose any pressure on Schlotterbeck regarding discussions about his contract. However, Matthias Sammer, a consultant for the team, holds a differing view.

Sammer’s Perspective on the Situation

Speaking to Sky Deutschland, Sammer emphasized the necessity for Schlotterbeck to clarify his position regarding ongoing negotiations. He expressed, “Understanding how far the discussions have progressed with Nico Schlotterbeck is crucial.”

“I’ve consistently approached this from a sporting standpoint. I’ve advised the club before that while it’s commendable to cultivate harmony and allow time, I wouldn’t take that approach. Sometimes, it’s important to establish clear deadlines.”
