Salah remarked, “It’s obvious that someone is attempting to place all the blame on me. I previously mentioned having a positive rapport with the manager, but that seems to have changed drastically.”

He continued, “I am perplexed; it appears that someone within the club does not wish for me to remain here.”

Feelings of Betrayal

“It feels as though the club has abandoned me, and it’s evident that someone is intent on making me the scapegoat. I genuinely cherish this club; my family supports it, and that devotion will always be there.”

“It’s unacceptable for me to be in this situation. I don’t comprehend why this is happening. It’s as if I am being sacrificed. I don’t believe I’m the issue here; my contributions to the club have been substantial.”

“I have earned my position and shouldn’t have to continually fight for it. While I know I’m not above anyone else, I’ve rightfully secured my spot in the team. That’s just the nature of football.”

Manager’s Explanation

Following the match at Elland Road, Slot provided insight into his decision to leave Salah on the bench. He stated, “The choice was based on maintaining control of the game at a score of 3-2; we didn’t need to score a goal.”
