The South African Football Association (SAFA) has sealed a three-year partnership with adidas, marking the brand’s long-awaited return as technical sponsor for all national teams.
The announcement, made just days after SAFA ended its five-year stint with Le Coq Sportif.
This brings back memories of 2010 when the Three Stripes symbolized unity and pride during the FIFA World Cup on home soil.
Fifteen years later, that energy is back. With Bafana Bafana heading to the 2026 World Cup and Banyana Banyana rising fast in women’s football, adidas is once again linking arms with South Africa to fuel a new era of belief and ambition.
“This partnership goes beyond sponsorship,” said SAFA CEO Lydia Monyepao. “It’s about pride, resilience, and performance. adidas understands our story and together, we’ll inspire South Africans to believe they’ve got what it takes.”
adidas Football’s VP of Product and Design, Sam Handy, echoed that sentiment, calling the collaboration “a proud reunion” and a celebration of football’s power to unite and inspire.
Fans can expect the new adidas kits covering match, training, travel, and fanwear to debut on 24 March 2026.
Until then, Bafana Bafana will continue to don Le Coq Sportif gear for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations.
