Reports indicate that Roma is considering a bid for Tottenham’s Mathys Tel after stepping back from their attempts to acquire Manchester United forward Joshua Zirkzee.

The storied Italian club is on the hunt for a new striker this January and had earlier shown interest in Zirkzee, who has struggled for game time at Manchester United.

Situation with Zirkzee

Multiple sources have indicated that Zirkzee was contemplating a move away from Manchester United in January. However, following his goal in a 2-1 victory against Crystal Palace, he expressed contentment with his current club.

As per Il Messaggero, Roma’s manager, Gian Piero Gasperini, had been advocating for the signing of Zirkzee, though the prospects of that happening now appear dim.

New Focus on Tel

Roma is now reportedly shifting its focus to Mathys Tel, a 20-year-old forward at Tottenham, who has only made three appearances in the Premier League this season.
