Michael Carrick in the Running for Rangers Manager Position
Former Middlesbrough manager Michael Carrick is being considered for the Rangers managerial role.
Rangers officials are on the hunt for a successor to Russell Martin, who was dismissed from his position last week.
Steven Gerrard Withdraws
The club’s primary choice was Liverpool icon and ex-Rangers manager Steven Gerrard. However, he stepped back from contention on Saturday following discussions with club representatives in London the day prior.
Carrick as a Strong Contender
Currently, the former Manchester United midfielder and coach Carrick is a potential candidate for the job, having parted ways with Middlesbrough after the last season.
According to Sky Sports, Carrick is under consideration by Rangers as a possible fit for the managerial role at Ibrox.
