Ramadan Sobhi Plans Appeal After CAS Imposes Four-Year Doping Ban

Ramadan Sobhi plans to fight his four-year suspension after the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) in Lausanne accepted an appeal from the World Anti-Doping Agency and imposed the sanction on the Pyramids FC winger.

CAS overturned the earlier verdict from the Egyptian anti-doping authorities, who cleared Sobhi of any wrongdoing after routine testing triggered allegations of sample manipulation.

The international ruling now places Sobhi’s career under serious threat and forces him into a critical legal battle.

Sobhi’s lawyer, Hani Zahran, responded immediately and confirmed that the legal team will challenge the decision.

He said they will file an appeal with the Swiss Federal Court within the required deadline and will base the case on what they consider serious procedural violations during the CAS hearings.

Zahran stated that the defence team now builds a detailed argument that focuses on fairness concerns within the legal process, rather than reopening the factual elements that the Egyptian authorities previously reviewed. He believes the evidence supporting Sobhi’s position gives the appeal a credible chance.

The case has stretched on for months and continues to cast a heavy shadow over the forward’s future. Sobhi maintains his innocence, and Zahran insists his client will pursue every available legal route until he clears his name.

Sobhi now waits for the next stage of the legal battle, as his career depends on the outcome of the appeal.
