FC Augsburg on the Hunt for New Head Coach
Ongoing Search for Sandro Wagner’s Successor
FC Augsburg is actively looking for a new head coach following the departure of Sandro Wagner from his managerial position in early December.
Potential Candidates
Reports from Bild indicate that Ralph Hasenhüttl is a leading candidate for the head coach position.
The 58-year-old manager was most recently in charge at VfL Wolfsburg but was dismissed from his role in May.
Interim Management
In the meantime, Augsburg has confirmed that Manuel Baum will continue as the interim coach until the winter break. Following this period, Baum will revert to his former role overseeing development and football innovation.
Timeline for Appointment
Sources suggest that the Bundesliga team is aiming to appoint a new coach by Christmas at the latest.
Other Possible Contenders
Pellegrino Matarazzo, the former Stuttgart coach, is also being considered for the role. However, he is reportedly close to finalizing a deal with Real Sociedad in Spain’s La Liga.
