Adrien Rabiot Reflects on His Transfer to AC Milan
Adrien Rabiot expresses his excitement over his recent transfer to AC Milan. The talented midfielder, who previously played for Marseille, officially joined the club this week and was welcomed at a presentation event this morning.
Influence of Max Allegri
Rabiot revealed that the presence of head coach Max Allegri, with whom he has a history from their time at Juventus, played a significant role in his decision to join Milan.
He shared, “I had a great rapport with him at Juventus. I immediately connected with his vision and ambition. His passion for football aligns perfectly with my own.”
He added, “Even after his departure from Juve, we maintained our communication and even met outside of the club. Beyond being an excellent coach, he is a remarkable person. I’m thrilled to have him back at Milan.”
Ambience at AC Milan
Speaking about his experiences since arriving at AC Milan, Rabiot remarked, “The environment is fantastic. There’s a strong desire to win within the group, comprising both young talents eager to learn and experienced players. My first training session felt great, and everyone associated with AC Milan has been incredibly welcoming to me and my family.”
Details of the Transfer
In discussing the timing of his transfer, Rabiot stated, “The final stages of the transfer window were hectic. I was in discussions with the manager when he joined Milan, but I was under contract with Marseille at that time.”
He clarified, “After the situation at Marseille unfolded, Allegri reached out again to discuss the Rossoneri project, his ambitions for a strong league performance, and the goal of returning to the Champions League. Ultimately, things moved quickly from there.”
Relationship with Jonathan Rowe
When asked about the circumstances surrounding his departure that also involved Jonathan Rowe, who was transferred to Bologna, Rabiot responded, “We stayed in touch after our respective moves. We exchanged messages to wish each other well and mentioned that we’d see each other at San Siro.”
He concluded, “It’ll be great to reconnect; he’s a good person. What happened was confined to the dressing room, but it hasn’t affected our friendship. We’re both looking forward to seeing each other on the pitch.”
